Grow personally and professionally

The IABC’s award-winning mentoring programme is one of the key benefits of membership in the UK and Ireland, offering members the chance to be matched with and mentored by experienced communications professionals.

Ask for a mentor

If you’re a current member, you can get in touch to ask to be matched with a suitable mentor. Start by thinking about what you want to achieve and what is your overall objective with mentoring.

Contact us at to iabcuk@gmail.com and we will share next steps before we pair you with one of our active mentors.

Once you’re paired up, you and your mentor will agree what topics your initial meeting will focus on and make a plan for subsequent meetings.

Being mentored can provide tangible benefits including:

  • Feeling encouraged and empowered in your personal development

  • Identifying and achieving your career goals

  • Opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge

  • Increasing your confidence

  • Developing a broader perspective on career options and opportunities

  • Having access to a senior role model

  • Expanding your professional relationships and network

And don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what a former mentee on the programme had to say about it…

“It has been great to set goals for my short and long-term career and with the help of my mentor, I have achieved more than I thought possible in a year. The programme is invaluable, and I can’t recommend it enough to both mentors and mentees.”

— IABC UK&I Mentee
